Tart cherry processing is crunch time for us! We work ‘round the
clock during tart cherry harvest to pit and process tart cherries for local
growers. We’re also certified for organic tart cherry processing.

Maraschino cherries keep us busy for most of the year. We produce
dippers (stemless) for ice cream cherries and cherries for cordials according
to customer specifications. |
| In 2002 our bottling line for tart cherry concentrate came to
'fruition.' It’s another product processed from tart cherries which we are
proud of. Through our affiliates it is available to wholesale customers in
larger quantities. We can also direct you to retail suppliers. |

 |
We have had Federal Highway Authority for trucking since 1997.
We’re able to deliver product to customers directly, as well as assist our
affiliates with their domestic freight-moving needs. |
| Light sweet brine cherries are available in large quantities
through our affiliates. They’re grown, sized, pitted, and stored locally so our
customers can be assured of their quality and availability. |

|
Dried tart cherries (and dried Balaton® cherries) are available
year-round through our affiliated companies. Growing ever-popular due to their
wonderful flavor, versatility in recipes, and their status as a healthy snack,
we are honored to know that the tart cherries we process each summer are part
of the region’s supply. |
| We offer custom warehousing on our premises as well as at our
sister company, Cherry Country FruitWorks, LLC. Whether frozen, cooler, or dry
storage is needed we’ll be able to assist a wide range of customer needs. |

Premium Dried Cherry Pits
Our premium dried cherry pits are from 100% Michigan cherries. They’re stockpiled during the harvest season in July and then are dried to a 10-12% moisture content. Then they’re bagged and palletized or stored in 55-gallon barrels for bulk purchase.
If you’re wondering how they stack up to other energy sources, their fuel energy value is as follows:
- Dried cherry pits: 9523 BTU’s/pound
- Dried shelled corn: 8500 BTU’s/pound
- Dried wood pellets: 8000 BTU’s/pound*
Please contact us for rates or any further questions you may have.
*Energy value data obtained from Dr. Thomas B. Reed of the Biomass Energy Foundation
and the Northwest Michigan Horticulture Research Station
